On 8th March, we celebrated the achievements, resilience and leadership of women everywhere – including cis women, trans women, and all women whose work shapes our world. While International Women’s Day is an important moment of recognition, supporting women and advancing equality should be something we commit to every single day of the year.
This year’s UN theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women,” reminds us that equality requires more than words, it requires real change and collective effort. Many organisations also promoted the principle of “Give to Gain” the idea that when people actively support women and gender equality, everyone benefits.
The 2025 Lovelace Report highlights why this work remains urgent. Women make up only around 20% of the UK tech workforce, and each year 40,000–60,000 women leave tech roles. This is not just an individual loss, it is a national one, draining the workforce of talent, perspective and potential at a time when technology and AI are reshaping every sector.
From pioneers in science and technology to the next generation of innovators, women in STEM continue to push boundaries and expand what’s possible. Supporting girls, women and trans women in STEM strengthens discovery, creativity and progress for everyone.
Our commitment has always been to help more women and underrepresented individuals enter AI and security, and succeed in their careers through RepresentAI and DiverseCXO for mentoring.
Through RepresentAI, free online AI training as well as in-person programmes are provided. Last year alone, over 1,500 people were supported to upskill in AI and security, helping to open pathways into one of the most important fields shaping our future.

With free Lovable and Anthropic credits provided for International Women’s Day through SheBuild, and members of the RepresentAI community built various AI sites using prompts.
Sarah Rench, founder of RepresentAI, quickly built a new tool:
MITRE ATLAS AI Security Risk Explorer
This app displays key AI security risks from the MITRE ATLAS (Adversarial Threat Landscape for Artificial-Intelligence Systems) framework. Users can browse risks and explore detailed descriptions and mitigation strategies, including Microsoft security tools.
Try it here: https://airiskreview.lovable.app
By removing barriers to knowledge, training and experimentation, more people are enabled to participate in building the future of AI.
You can also sign up for the AI newsletter and join the community building together here: https://representai.co.uk/join-us/
Here’s to breaking barriers and building a future where all women can thrive, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
Thanks and appreciation go to all the unsung champions and heroes driving positive change.
And to our male allies and co-creators of positive change, thank you!
